6. Elke’s problem(S)

PENTAX DIGITAL CAMERA

1/

Transformational power of shared rituals

(or ‘the choreography of the social body’)

– How can an existing (existente) sense of community / communality be transformed through the introduction of rituals?

2/

What is love?

if it is not attached to:

-a particular body

-a particular sort of behaviour

-law-… structure (like marriage)

-expectations

HABIT, LAW, EXPECTATIONS, OWNERSHIP, EXCLUSIVITY

if it is:

-an atmosphere / a space / an attitude ?

PROPOSAL CAMILA / PIERRE FOR ELKE

Problematic / General Idea

An common ‘entity’ created by a group transforming a collective concern.

The process of building/constructing as a vector of change.

Concern: How this space could be (re)charged?

From love to care to actualisation

An atmosphere

A movement

Between concealed and revealed…

Practice: Courting

(a transformative practice starting with an attention to details and augmenting the depth of field of our gaze in order to discover/construct  sites for the actualisation of the Mystery of Love)

Process of the atelier:

Preliminary questions posed to the participants:

“Where do you situate desire/love in this collective space, charged already with traces from past actions, memories?

Where is the remarkable point where you acknowledge the most intense love potential ?

How can you court this ‘object/subject of love’?

Practice:

develop your own way of courting the “site” individually

Then sharing in order to be contaminated

(contagion by the other’s love)

Then the collective construction of a machine producing desire for the ‘practitioners’.

A ‘tableau vivant’ articulating the different types of courting and the remarkable sites.

The atmospheric landscape of an alternative, communal/collective idea of love.
